Our volunteer firefighters receive extensive training through organizations like the Illinois Fire Service Institute, covering a wide range of skills and disciplines. At the Williamsville Fire Protection District, we’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our team of volunteer EMTs. As a volunteer EMT or Paramedic, you’ll play a crucial role in providing life-saving care to those in need. Our commitment to your success extends to training and education. We provide State of Illinois certified EMT courses to our volunteers, ensuring that you receive the necessary training to become a certified emergency medical technician. Additionally, for those who are already certified, we offer continuing education opportunities to help you stay up-to-date with your skills. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and healthcare providers to deliver the best possible patient care. Whether you’re interested in becoming an EMT, or a Paramedic, we welcome your commitment and desire to make a positive impact on the lives of your community members. Joining the Ranks: A Guide to Becoming a Volunteer at WFPD

  1. Complete an application: Everyone interested needs to complete the application online here, or in-person.
  2. Visit us for a meeting: We ask applicants to come to the department for a normal meeting night. The fire department meets every Thursday night at 7pm, unless otherwise posted. Send us an email in advance to ensure that a meeting will take place.
  3. Station tour and interview: We invite our applicants to come see our station and learn about what volunteer life may be like.
